A good friend of mine got this 'junk' email re Dems, taxes and Social Security.  From family.  Ugh.  She's asking for factual rebuttal to:

Whether you are a Democrat, Republican or Independent... these are the

Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the independent "Trust
Fund" and put it into the general fund so that Congress could spend it?

A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the democratically controlled House and
Senate.

I know enough to know it is - at a minimum - 1/2 truths, distortions and/or just plain crap.  While I'm kinda smart and ferociously partisan, I don't have a point by point rebuttal to send her (she's got physical dexterity and tech limitations [dial-up, egads] so I don't have the heart to send her on a 10-hour google marathon).  I'm literally on my way out the door for 2 days of workshop learning and fun and can't do the 2 hour google marathon myself.

50-some% believe school teachers should use the bible as a historical text?  Un-Fracken-Believable!!!

PLEASE call WI Senator Feingold Today and request/urge/suggest that he filibuster this lame "we're so afraid of what Faux news - and Bush (and Broder!) - will say about us" blank check Iraq bill when it hits the Senate floor (tomorrow?).
